Search engine optimisation (SEO) is about telling the search engines what your website is all about; content is about giving them a reason to rank your website at the top of their pages for relevant searches.
Think of it this way; Google makes money from its advertising. The more people who use Google, the more money it will make. Therefore, Google wants to offer its users what they’re looking for.
What they’re looking for isn’t a website that has been optimised for search queries, but features no actual content that is of use to them. Google wants to offer content-rich websites to its users, so in order to ensure that your website ranks well within the search engine results pages (SERPs) you need to make your website exactly what Google is looking for: content rich.
At StuckOn we offer two main types of SEO content for our clients, news and web copy.
News and article delivery
To get to (and stay at) the top of Google, it is important to have a constant stream of fresh, relevant content.
We write regular content for our clients, content that is relevant to their business. This content can be delivered every single day, several times a week or even just once a week (depending on how competitive your industry). As this content is added regularly, and is written professionally, the website is seen as an authority by Google.
Adding regular news content in this way can also see you accepted as a Google News Publisher, which will see your traffic increase, your links increase and gain you front page rankings for topical news.
Unlike much of SEO — which we love, by the way — this isn’t theory and this isn’t dependent on outside influences. It’s your site, it’s your content, and the better it is done (and the more frequently), the better you’ll be treated by Google. It’s as simple as that.
There are many ways to make a great site, but no site can be great without great content – and lots of it.
Have a look at the sites at the top of Google for those ‘golden’ keywords in your industry. Do they have more pages than those on the lower end of the first page and further down?
You can bet that they have more business online too.
Web copy
Another area in which StuckOn can help you is by crafting engaging web copy for your website. Many clients feel that writing the perfect copy that describes their services can be difficult, especially when search engine optimisation has to be considered.
Striking the correct balance between keywords and copy is something that even the best SEO agencies struggle with; that’s why you will often see boxes of random ‘SEO text’ on the homepages of many websites that have benefited from SEO services. At StuckOn we don’t employ this tactic. We believe that all of the text on a website is important for both search engines and for customers, and copy can be tailored towards both without negatively affecting either.
